Seeds
240 original plaster seeds (poured and hand-carved), burlap sack, string
Debut Display: Gateway to the Arts, Gateway Mall, Lincoln, NE

Description

Every encounter we have with others plants a seed of hope or despair, joy or pain, encouragement or negativity. Some seeds we cast cause change to happen while others seem to fall on deaf ears and hardened hearts. We all have seeds to sow as we go about our days, what type of seeds do you toss out into the world?

For those who find themselves in the role of Sower, within families, social groups and organizations, take courage and remember:

“We cannot force someone to hear a message they are not ready to receive, but we must never underestimate the power of planting a seed”
- Unknown

 Interactive Component:
Those who seed the installation are invited to take a seed with them to remember that any interaction we have with people, no matter how large or how small can make all the difference to that person.
