This amazing, awesome, powerful, nature controlling God asks us to step out on faith, like Peter, so He can show us a side of Himself we haven’t known before.  In these moments we realize that we can’t stand without the help of our Savior and we are reminded that if we take our eyes off of Him we will begin to sink in our selves and loose ground and not gain it for Him.  What I think is amazing is that He knows we have the tendency to shift our gaze to the trouble and not to Him and yet He is still there ready to come to us, reach out, calm the fear, and ultimately save us.
