Walking on the purple waves of Psalm 93 is a figure not overwhelmed or drowned by a downpour or rising water.   This figure is an image I have in my mind of how God protects me for all eternity.  Although I may become a little wet from the storm, the brunt of the struggle is deflected by His loving arms in order to comfort me in times of trouble.  The boldness of the colors of the piece serve to represent the strength and control of God over all nature and especially over the spiritual battle fought on the daily level.
