Psalm 78 (December 2007)

Probably one of my favorite images from the series. Surrounding the image of Christ on the cross I used the words to surround the figure in accordance to how they went together. I often grouped similar qualities together when I was preparing to sketch an image in order to have a better idea of what I needed or wanted to portray. The figure of this piece is the only one in which features have been minimally given. This was intentional as one sees that the words “grieves disobedience” flows from the eye like a stream of tears would. I image Christ hanging on the cross, knowing all that He is and all that He came to do and how He just wants us to accept His gift of grace and in turn love and obey Him.
