Powerful Word (December 2008)
Scripture: Matt. 8:5-13 / Luke 7: 1-10 20” x 24” NOT AVAILABLE I am amazed at the Lord’s ability to speak and it be so. In this passage of scripture, Jesus heals the servant of a centurion just because the man asked him to and believed in Jesus’ ability to do so. The centurion didn’t have to see Jesus perform the miracle to know He could do it. The faith of that man inspires me. It reminds me that the Lord is honorable, the source of help, and knows what lies ahead. He is worthy of my praise and trust for He simply speaks and it is so. I often forget that He sees my level of faith whatever it may be. Within this painting there is hidden a figure kneeling, holding the hand of the other. The standing figure represents Jesus and from His mouth comes the red waves which represent the power of His word. |
