Poured Out and Worthy (May 2011)
Scripture: Matthew 26:6-13 / Mark 14:3-9 18” x 18” NOT AVAILABLE As Jesus reclined to eat with his friends, a woman, a sinner, came and cleansed His feet with her tears and covered them with precious, expensive perfume. She knew the love of the Savior and the reward of repentance – forgiveness. As I went to write the description of this painting after selecting its title I was impressed how this woman, in a sense, was an image of what was to come. Jesus would give up His precious life (be poured out) for you and I on the cross soon after this incident. He became a servant and gave the valuable gift of His life so we could enter the Kingdom of God and Dance with the Trinity if we believe in Him. He was worthy of the perfume she poured out on His feet, maybe more than we can even comprehend. |
