Gives to Fruit Bearer (January 2011)
Scripture: Matthew 21:33-46 / Mark 12:1-12 / Luke 20:9-19 18” x 24” NOT AVAILABLE Jesus used many parables to tell what would happen to Him including this parable of the tenants. He used this parable to explain how He would be rejected by the very people who were waiting for His arrival as the Messiah. This exposed the religious elite and their piety toward their religion which blinded them from the truth. We too can be blinded by our traditions and religious practices and fail to see the true Savior in front of us who, through His blood, offers us salvation through grace alone. The background of this painting uses drips of red dye to reflect the nature of this parable as the shed blood of Christ Himself. May we also remember that as a believer, if the Son was rejected we too should be prepared to be rejected by the world. |
