Light Bright Wall: First Iteration ("Go Big Red") Fall 2019
Location: Gateway Mall, 6100 O Street, Lincoln, NE
Just as the fall sports season kicked off I began work on a new project with Gateway Mall. Working with the General Manager and Marketing Director we came up with a few ideas to move forward on, one of them being a large lit wall reminiscent of a child's Lite Brite Toy. In our discussions, three main iterations of the wall were proposed so that we could make the most of the initial work put in to the wall - i.e. the 2500 holes Clay Neal drilled into the drywall. Over 5 plus nights the holes were measured and drilled. Then after my work of placing cups into the wall, Clay did the magic of lighting the piece. Teamwork defines this project. The piece stayed up through the end of October 2019 when a new iteration went up celebrating the holiday season.
