In these passages we again are astounded by the sovereign control of Christ as He states His work on this earth is finished and He willingly surrenders to death fulfilling what He came to do.  I used dark colors in this painting to evoke the emotion of Christ being all alone.   I can’t even imagine what it was like for Him to experience complete separation from His Father when all of the world’s sin was thrust upon Him.
