Father of Life (December 2008)
Scripture: Matt. 7:15-23 / Luke 6:43-45
24” x 24”
I can never get over the fact that the God who created the universe wants a personal relationship with me. The scripture related to this passage speaks of knowing who has a personal relationship with the Father by the fruit that is produced in his/her life. I tried to represent this and the quality of God as Creator by drawing an oil pastel tree with apples under the painted layer of this piece. To express God as personal and intimate (father-like) I hid two figures in the painting one holding the other and pointing his finger to the left in instruction. This figure represents God and the figure being held is me or you or anyone who chooses to enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
