Data Weaving Project: Early Childhood Development Fair 2022
Location:  Gateway Mall, Lincoln, NE
Medium:  Wood, string, yarn, collected data (i.e. public interaction)

Can data be collected in a different way? Could it me interesting and fun to participate in a survey?

I was asked by a group of Lincoln Early Childhood Organizations to create an interactive art piece for their annual fair in 2022 and I asked if they would be interested in collecting data at the same time. They were on board and interested in seeing what could be collected and how that could help their organizations.
The premise of the project was to have one question for each loom.  The group came up with nine mulitiple choice questions that they wanted to ask. My job was then to construct the looms and come up with yarn or ribbon to represent the answers for the questions.
It turned out to be an amazing two hours as I interacted with the families, learned about their needs, and watched them get excited over our data collecting art piece.
