When asked by a mother for the eternal position of her sons, Jesus began to explain what a person of true nobility should look like.  It is to be someone who puts themselves in the place of a servant and puts other’s needs ahead of his/her own.  In this painting I chose to use the image of someone washing another’s feet in order to show the humility and willingness to serve that Jesus spoke of.
