King of Israel (November 2010)
Scripture: Matthew 21:1-11 / Mark 1:1-10 / Luke 19:28-44 / John 12:12-15 20” x 30” NOT AVAILABLE “Hosanna to the King” resounds on the entry of Christ into the City of Jerusalem on the day we celebrate as Palm Sunday. The image of a cloak represents those laid out for Jesus as He rode through the city. The cloak is the central image and makes up the grid for the piece as well as the name of Jesus written 13 times. Also look under the top layer of paint and one will see the drawings of simple palm branches which were also laid out for the Savior to ride over. I used the common symbols and the colors of the rainbow to show that the foretold, promised Messiah did indeed come as the King of Israel – Jesus was that fulfillment. . |
